YES we do if we want to mature in our Christian faith. Maturing as a Christian isn't always easy .... none of us are Jesus, so we be on track & off track, then on again & off again. It's part of the deal since we are not perfect. Jesus has put others in our lives to help us get back on track. All of us need help, we are designed by God to be with others who are "like-minded."
Ephesians 4:15-16 (ESV) "Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love."
Being a part of a community can be scary. Do we really want others in our personal business? Do we want to be vulnerable? This can be SCARY for a lot of us. We need to remember that we were created to be a part of a living and vibrant community of believers who encourage, uplift, and spur one another on in our Christian life.
In Heaven, all believers will be one glorious community with the purpose of praising Jesus. Being a part of the right Community of Believers with the same purpose will be like a little bit of Heaven on Earth.
